Join “When to Worry,” A Lively Chat about Parenting Amid the Pandemic

This week, May 1-7, is Children’s Mental Health Awareness and Acceptance Week! This is always an important event, but it’s particularly valuable as parents and families navigate the ongoing children’s mental health crisis.

In honor of this event, Little Otter is proud to host “When to Worry” a lively discussion about parenting, child mental health, and how families can access mental health care.

The discussion will take place tomorrow, Thursday, May 5th at 1PM EST. It’s free to join, and guaranteed to be full of laughter and relatable moments! Sign up here to join live.

Families are dealing with a children’s mental health crisis; from the most recent reports, we know it's only getting worse.

Even before the pandemic, 1 in 5 children had an impairing mental health disorder, and 80% of these children never received care.

The COVID-19 pandemic has only intensified this crisis, heightening the need for accessible quality mental health care. We need to take care of our children’s mental health.

Given the crisis in kids’ mental health, renowned child psychiatrist and Little Otter co-founder Dr. Helen Egger, comedians-turned-dads The Dumb Dads Evan Kyle Berger and Kevin Laferriere, and SiriusXM radio host and podcaster Nicole Ryan want to talk about it.

These four will come together for “When to Worry,” an energetic and informative discussion on the mental well-being of our children and pediatric mental healthcare hosted by Little Otter.

In this conversation, they’ll discuss:

  • Temper tantrums

  • Lasting effects of the pandemic on families

  • When to worry or not to worry (sometimes kids are just kids!)

  • Dealing with loss

  • The impact of technology on mental healthcare

  • Access to quality mental healthcare for children

This panel is designed for parents, grandparents, and caregivers. At the end, we hope you’ll feel connected, empowered, and confident about your child’s mental health, and how to get your family the care you need.
